Overview
OSM is a one-season optimization game. With the Winners Cup as the main exception, the squad does not become a permanent multi-season asset. The optimal loop is therefore:
Sell expendable assets → buy upgrades or liquid inventory → train high-impact players → field the strongest context-appropriate XI → recycle capital → repeat.
Strategic priorities
| Priority | Principle | Practical meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Win the starting-XI battle | Improve the weakest line that affects your next decisive matches |
| 2 | Preserve tactical coherence | Formation, game plan, instructions, and sliders must express the same idea |
| 3 | Keep capital productive | Idle list slots and trapped expensive inventory slow squad growth |
| 4 | Train for current-season impact | Favor young starters, weak links, and liquid train-and-sell assets |
| 5 | Manage risk by context | Venue, objective, referee, fitness, and camps change the rational level of aggression |
| 6 | Learn from samples | One result is an anecdote; matched repeated tests build a personal tactic library |
What matters more than a copied tactic
In descending practical order:
- Likely starting-XI and line quality
- Correct positions and player availability
- Fitness, morale, and preparation bonuses
- Formation/game-plan coherence
- Opponent-aware shape selection
- Venue and strategic objective
- Slider refinement
- Marking, offside, and specialist optimization
- Random match events and finishing variance
