What OSMCoach is
OSMCoach is an independent knowledge hub for Online Soccer Manager players. It focuses on tactics, counter formations, exact starting settings, match preparation, transfers, squad building, hidden-gem teams, scouting and evidence-aware tactical testing.
The site is maintained under the OSMCoach editorial identity. No personal biography, professional coaching credential or private relationship with Gamebasics is claimed. OSMCoach is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by Gamebasics.
How tactics are researched
Research begins with the decision a manager actually faces: the likely starting elevens, opponent formation and game plan, venue, referee, match objective and usable player positions. Formation, game plan, line instructions, pressing, style and tempo are evaluated as one coherent system.
Official OSM documentation is preferred for mechanics. Identifiable staff or moderator explanations, reproducible observations and repeated community reports can support practical guidance. Shape logic is used only as an explicitly labelled inference. One result, a screenshot or a confident forum post is never treated as proof of a hidden formula.
Evidence and confidence levels
Confirmed
An official OSM or Gamebasics source documents the mechanic or option.
Supported
The recommendation is coherent and has repeatable practical support, but the private engine formula is not known.
Experimental
A plausible starting hypothesis with limited or mixed evidence that still needs structured testing.
Unknown
The available material does not support a reliable conclusion.
Confidence describes how well a starting point is supported. It does not predict one match with certainty and is never presented as a guaranteed win rate.
Review, updates and freshness
Published and modified dates are editorial dates, not deployment timestamps. A page receives a new modified date only when the recommendation, evidence, visible content, structured data or another meaningful part of the page changes.
Time-sensitive club objectives, player ratings, prices and availability must be checked in the current OSM database. Provisional counter pages remain marked provisional until stronger evidence justifies a change.
Corrections and contact
Corrections should identify the page, the exact statement in question and the strongest available source or reproducible observation. Unsupported “this always wins” claims are not enough to change an evidence label.
Submit a correction through the public OSMCoach content-correction form. It asks for the affected URL, disputed statement, proposed correction and supporting evidence; never include credentials or private account information.
How community match results may be used
The current match-note form stores validated reports only in the visitor’s browser. No central upload endpoint is enabled, no identity is requested and no community win rate is displayed.
A future opt-in research system may use anonymized tactical context such as formations, relative strength, venue, slider ranges, marking, offside, referee, score and match statistics. It must apply schema validation, duplicate controls, spam safeguards, tactic versioning and minimum evidence thresholds before showing conclusions.
Privacy principles for submitted match data
OSMCoach does not need a name, email address, OSM username, club name or account identifier to study a tactic. Optional notes should exclude personal details. Free text should be minimized, retained only when necessary and never published automatically.
Any future centralized collection must be opt-in, disclose its purpose and retention, allow deletion where applicable, and keep raw submissions separate from published aggregates.
